For boatbuilders · Refit yards · Marine electrical integrators

A direct-DC cooking option for your next 48V galley project.

Joelwave supplies 48V DC induction cooktop platforms for project evaluation. Discuss an integrated boat or yacht galley around the complete electrical system—not only the glass size or nominal battery voltage.

For project-specific evaluation. No third-party certification currently available.

Built around the questions a marine integration team asks.

New-build galley planning

Select one or two cooking zones, review approved cut-out dimensions and reserve ventilation and service access before the galley furniture is released.

Lithium and electrical refits

Review the existing DC bus, BMS, other simultaneous loads, cable route and protection plan. A vessel with a 48V propulsion bank does not automatically have a suitable galley supply.

OEM supply evaluation

Discuss glass graphics, controls, cable/connector selection, packaging and documentation after the technical configuration and destination requirements are clear.

Actual DC supply display showing 50.5V and 33.7A during the single-zone test
Original video evidence, not a simulated reading

50.5V. 33.7A. About 1.70kW input.

At the 1500W display setting, one single-zone sample recorded approximately 1702W electrical input. Compare all 10 settings and the original footage before evaluating a sample for your installation.

The reading is not measured heat output, average cooking consumption or a universal maximum current. The control setting is not interchangeable with the electrical input.

Choose the configuration around the installation.

Nominal ratings describe the configuration and are separate from the single-sample electrical input observations. Use the approved model drawing and specification for final design. The single-zone video does not verify two-zone load behavior.

Send a complete integration brief.

  1. Actual house-bank voltage range, battery chemistry and BMS continuous/peak limits
  2. Single-zone or two-zone use, simultaneous electrical loads and an approved load budget
  3. Approved mounting drawing, ventilation path, compartment temperatures and service access
  4. DC conductors, connectors, over-current protection and an accessible disconnect selected by a qualified installer
  5. Vessel movement, cookware retention, mounting security and spill exposure evaluated for the intended installation
  6. Destination-market and vessel-specific requirements, including any tests or approvals required before use

This is an evaluation pathway, not a marine type-approval claim. No third-party certification is currently available for these cooktops. Suitability for a vessel, corrosion/spill exposure and any required compliance must be established for the exact project before installation.

Clarify the project before choosing a sample.

Can a 48V propulsion battery directly power the galley cooktop?

Not automatically. Propulsion and house-load architectures, actual voltage, isolation, BMS, distribution and protection must be assessed together. Send the electrical diagram and voltage range before requesting a sample.

Is this already a certified marine cooktop?

No third-party certification is currently available. The product is offered for project-specific technical evaluation; required vessel and market approvals must be confirmed before installation or commercial supply.

Does direct DC guarantee lower battery consumption?

No. A compatible direct-DC cooktop removes the separate DC-to-AC inverter stage for that appliance, but total consumption depends on the whole system and cooking cycle. We do not claim a universal efficiency gain.

What measured current is available for assessment?

A single-zone sample near 50.5V recorded 33.7A at the 1500W display setting, giving about 1702W calculated electrical input. This is not a universal maximum current, cycle-average consumption or measured heat output.
